Does that look like a baking contest winner? I think he's breaking a few stereotypes!!

tesco will be joining us tomorrow at 3pm for his "Acceptance Speech

Thanks to ALL the AMAZING entries. You didn't even hear every one of the nice things the judges said about all the entries. We were ALL SO IMPRESSED.

Thanks to Judges Rori Trovato, and Celia Barbour.

And will RockStarMommy be the Susan Lucci of ChickChat Radio's Flag Cake Contest???

Posted by Heidi on July 11, 2007 •

Congrats to Tesco, but I have to say I was rooting for my girl RSM.  Her cake was spectacular!  I hope she doesn’t become the Susan Lucci of cakes - she so deserves to win this thing!  Next year I have a feeling everyone will be pulling out the big guns!!!

Thanks for inviting me to participate in this contest!  I really had a blast doing it.  Now pardon me while I go read up on fondant.  (I am so gonna wow you all next year with my fondant skills!)

HAHAHA!!!! Susan Lucci of cakes. That’s awesome.

Congrats to tesco and good job to all the participants.

So Katie, I gotta come up with something better than fondant next year? rasberry

Posted by tesco  on  July 11, 2007

Ah Tesco.  It is ON for next year!

Posted by amber  on  July 12, 2007

I.... You.... My.... It.... SEVEN HOURS!!!!!!!!! Oh, I am so NOT taking this lying down.

Screw Susan Lucci. I am Al Gore. And these cakes? Are the hanging chads. It’s not over.

(ps - Sorry for sounding like a lunatic on your show! I only sound like a lunatic like that? When I don’t think the whole country can hear me.)

I never doubted for a second tesco wouldn’t win. Congrats bud!

Posted by Liz  on  July 12, 2007

Haha, yeah, Tesco. I am almost afraid to see what you’ll conjure up next year!

Posted by Snickrsnack Katie  on  July 12, 2007

Oh, yeah, to answer the question (I’m a day behind on ChickChat) there ARE the correct number of stars and stripes.  (That made the “union”, which is the blue part of the cake, very white-chocolately!)

The white chocolate chips are right side up for stars and upside down for stripes.

What kind of CHICK CHAT site lets a DUDE win over a CHICK???

RSM.. you were ROBBED.

I would beg for a recount!!

(congrats Tesco--- your cake really was purrrtttyyy!!)

ahem… I am for the RSM camp!!

Posted by Kathy  on  July 12, 2007

The only way I can accept tesco as the winner is if he makes a mad hatter cake that is better than Rude Girl. Until then, I will not accept him as the winner. wink

I have to concur with Kathy wink

I have my own camp now? This rules.

Camp RSM: Sore Losers Stroking Each Other’s Egos Since, Like, Somewhat Recently

Nah, your people love you, you should be happy… it is a little sad however that they have to question the use of a quill on a Declaration of Independence… or at least the one who did. wink

Posted by tesco  on  July 13, 2007

Umm, that was Lara on the show. And no one questioned it’s use, they said it was weird on a cake.

Posted by rsm  on  July 13, 2007

Well I thought the quill tasted like shit!  Pretty handy to pick my teeth with though.
grin
