But the folks who dreamed up Hollaback NYC and now many other cities had nothin' on Miss Alice Reighly from, get this,

THE ANTI-FLIRT CLUB.

The Year: 1928

"Miss Alice Reighly, President of the Anti-flirt Club which has just been organized in Wash., D.C. and will launch an "Anti-flirt" week beginning March 4th - the club is composed of young women and girls who have been embarrassed by men in automobiles and on street corners"

Did you read that? Yes, YOUNG women and girls.....you ain't gonna catch no older "lady" getting at all upset about a whistle or two!!

This "phenomenon" has been going on for all of time.

I'll bet there were cavegirls who just didn't want to put up being dragged around by the hair. : )


Well girls, as time goes by, and with each passing year, I get more and more desperate to hear a construction worker cat-calling me.

Actually, I'll admit -- I think the tables have completely turned.....I now cat-call the construction workers.
