Get your mind out of the gutter!

I just got back from an incredible vacation, where something amazing happened every time we turned around. But the most spectacular, breathtaking, stop-your-heart vision we saw happened by accident.



We had just gone snorkeling with a group of other tourists, and my husband noticed something move out of the corner of his eye on the beach, and he saw a baby sea turtle. He called us over, and...a hundred baby sea turtles scrambled out of a hole, racing to the sea. As a few got lost, we crowded around to pick them up and drop them in the sea. Everyone got to hold a squirmy, minutes-old sea turtle.

It felt like stepping in to help nature. You know how a butterfly flaps its wings in the amazon and there's a hurricane in the middle of the ocean? I wondered if we had disrupted something huge....but those sea turtles were the cutest thing I ever did see.

It took us countless hours and an extra two nights to get home, but whenever we got aggravated we just looked at each other and said brightly, "Baby Sea Turtles!!!!"
